Always Something Sings
The proven restorative and health-giving power of singing is a subject much talked and written about by researchers. Benefits are well-acknowledged by singers in Auckland Welsh Choir and, very appropriately, our concert at St Luke’s Church was entitled “Always Something Sings”
Contemporary American composer Dan Forrest has written this appealingly apt title piece, which we will perform with with two choirs and five string players. Peka Totara Choir of One Tree Hill College will join Auckland Welsh Choir in the programme, along with successful young music performance graduate and soloist, soprano Bernice Austin, whose parents are both long-time members of Auckland Welsh Choir. With a programme including sacred music, classic part-songs of the English countryside, lieder and even a little vocal jazz. At the same time you will be helping us to support the Auckland Restorative Justice Trust, a group which is committed to training more counsellors for its valuable work.
